5th International Concert Tour

Join Sons of Orpheus for our 5th international concert tour

Leipzig, Prague, Salzburg and Munich

including 3 days at the 2008 Leipzig International Choral Festival
and concert performances in Prague and Salzburg

July 14–25, 2008

We invite new singers and former members of Sons of Orpheus
to join us for our exciting 5th international concert tour!

We also invite friends, relatives, and music lovers to join us for the tour.
We have plenty of space available for non-singers to accompany us on our travels.

Our itinerary includes three nights each in Leipzig, Prague, and Salzburg and one night in Munich. We will participate in at least four performances during our sojourn in Europe, including a joint concert with a choir similar to Sons of Orpheus, and a grand finale concert in Leipzig with choruses from Mendelssohn’s magnificent oratorio, Elijah, as the centerpiece. There will also be lots of free time for side trips, sightseeing, and fine dining,

The cost per person for the European tour will be approximately $3,000, with a $250 deposit per person required by September 30. (Final pricing will depend on the Dollar-to-Euro exchange rate.) This includes round trip air fare, 3-star hotel accommodations, breakfasts, and ground transportation. The costs of lunches, dinners, and other sundry items are not included. Payment will be made to Sons of Orpheus. A portion of the travel costs could perhaps be considered a charitable deduction to a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. (Consult with your tax advisor.)

For singers, our rehearsal schedule for the 2007–2008 concert season begins on August 22. We will work on our spring/summer repertoire until October 15, at which time we’ll begin rehearsals for our Holiday/Christmas programs. Following our performance with the Arizona Balalaika Orchestra at the end of January, we’ll resume rehearsals for our spring concerts and summer tour. We would invite those singers who wish to participate with us solely in our European tour to learn the music with us at those rehearsals devoted to the tour program.
